I am about to complete a small project that is to estimate the state of charge (soc) of the lithium ion battery. Since the battery soc cannot be measured directly from the battery terminal, hence it needs to be estimated by various method. So, I want to estimate the battery soc by using Unscented Kalman Filter (ukf).

To implement ukf for soc estimation, firstly battery need to be modelled. So, I decided to use three level of RC, Equivalent Circuit Model or known also as Thevenin Model.

Battery testing had been done to get the characteristics of the battery. Three types of battery testing had been conducted which are Pulse Discharge Test (pdt), Continuous Discharge Test (cdt) and Random Charge Discharge Test. The terminal voltage and current had been recorded throughout the test. Then, OCV-SOC relationship had been obtained from this test. The Coulomb Counting method had been conducted to estimate the soc of the battery, and the result of this method is considered as the real soc of the battery.

Then, I want to use UKF method to estimate the battery soc, and the result will be compared to the Coulomb Counting method. To implement the UKF, three level of RC pair for battery model should be utilised (for nonlinear state equation and nonlinear output equation). Experimental data (voltage and current) will be used in this method as the measurement data. This UKF method should be simulated by using MATLAB m-code. If possible, I want to extend the method by using Adaptive UKF (AUKF).

UKF general equation can be found in the uploaded file (which I dont know how to implement this in matlab)

I had read a lot of research paper regarding this topic.. but none of them showed the detail step to implement UKF for soc estimation. Just a general equation that I cannot relate to the battery soc estimation, with equivalent circuit model

I have the state space model, but I need to know and understand how it was derived so basically, I need the PMSM dynamic equations (The state equations of the machine)..
