- پروژه باید تمام محدودیت های زیر را برآورده کند:
- باید یک بازار موجود و قابل اثبات برای محصول وجود داشته باشد. یک راه خوب برای تأیید آن، از طریق یک تحقیق اولیه مبتنی بر اینترنت برای شناسایی محصولات موجود است که سعی در برآورده کردن نیازهای موجود بازار دارند. این محصول نیازی به داشتن پتانسیل اقتصادی فوق‌العاده ندارد، اما حداقل باید فرصتی جذاب برای یک سرمایه‌گذاری جدید یا یک شرکت مستقر با محصولات و/یا مهارت‌های مرتبط باشد
- محصول مورد بحث یک کالای مادی است اما طرح های پیشنهادی به توسعه خدمات، نرم افزار و شرکت های مبتنی بر اینترنت هم مورد تایید است
- باید مطمئن باشید که می توانید طرحی را روی کاغذ یا طراحی کامپیوتری محصول بکشید.
- باید به بیش از پنج کاربر بالقوه محصول دسترسی داشته باشید
Project Coursework Should:
1. Explore and Present One Opportunity. Assess potential of product/service opportunity. Identify potential value or benefit of your product. Explain primary and secondary markets, competing products and/or services.
2. Develop a Mission Statement as presented in the class.
3. Identify and present in a structured way Customer Needs. Start conducting observational interviews with and collecting photos of customers in the use environment. Identify products that you believe would be competitors in addressing your market opportunity. List key strengths and weaknesses of each.
4. Relate needs (no more than 10) to specifications. Construct a QFD, and try to understand and present potential trade-offs.
5. Generate Concept ideas and prepare bullet-point descriptions of alternative concepts. Draw if possible two or more sketches. For each sketch, note which of the important customer needs it addresses and which it does it. Conduct a preliminary patent search to identify patents most closely related to your product category and proposed solutions. Explain what you have learned from the search and how this might affect your approach to further development. You may research patent information at patft.uspto.gov or www.google.com/patents.
6. Screen your ideas. Use a concept selection matrix (screening or scoring) to select at most three concepts for further consideration. Converge to a single concept. Be prepared to explain your choice. Prepare a list of the key uncertainties or questions you still need to address to completely define your product. For each uncertainty, specify an associated plan of action (such as analysis, mock ups/prototypes, interviews, experiments, etc.).
7. Prepare a separate updated ONE-PAGE description and sketch (if possible a CAD model) of your final product concept.
