3d Audio Art Experience in iOS The purpose of the app is to allow users to experience a sound based artwork through their iPhone, occurring at specific locations, during certain times of the day. The artwork focuses on an audio narrative that takes the user on a journey through time and space. The app will use location-based services to access the users location and orientation to determine the position of celestial bodies, current weather and other phenomena in relation to the user. This information will then be used to dynamically drive the appropriate narrative and spatialized audio for the user during the experience. The location information will also be used to notify the user when they have entered an active zone for an experience (via geofencing). Additionally, the app will provide visual cues to the user through a compass-like user interface, to help orient and navigate the user during the experience. The app will allow users to share information about the artwork on social media, comment on an experience they have participated in, and view other people's comments. Applicants should have excellent iOS development experience, knowledge of the Swift programming language, with a good grounding in TDD, agile development methods and git. The app will make heavy use of location-based libraries (CoreLocation), audio libraries (AVAudioEngine) and notifications in iOS8, as well as rest-based services, so experience with these is a huge bonus. An interest in astronomy is also a plus.
