The LTC6085 is an Analog Devices, 1.5 MHz gain bandwidth, 0.5 V/us slew rate, operational amplifier.
The op amp has a dc gain of 107 dB and a unity gain of 750 kHz. The data sheet provides this information
along with several plots including the open loop gain frequency plot.
1. Design an inverting amplifier, using the LTC6085, with a closed loop gain of -50 V/V. Using the open
loop gain frequency plot in the datasheet, estimate the 3dB frequency of the inverting amplifier. Next,
simulate the inverting amplifier circuit in LTSpice. Plot the gain (Vout/Vin) versus frequency response
from 10 Hz to 1 MHz. Find the 3dB frequency on the plot. Discuss your results.
2. Design a unity gain buffer amplifier, using the LTC6085. Using the published slew rate in the datasheet
calculate the fastest risetime possible for a pulse output voltage of 1 V. Next, simulate the buffer
amplifier for a transient response of the output voltage with an input voltage source of a trapezoidal
pulse with an amplitude of 1 V, rise and fall time of 1 usec, and a flat top width of 3 usec. Show both
input and output on the same plot and discuss the differences in the two waveforms.
3. Design an inverting Miller Integrator Low Pass Filter with DC gain using the LTC6085. Choose a unity
gain at DC. Let the feedback resistor be 10 kohm. Calculate the value of the capacitor needed to achieve
a cutoff frequency which will be determined by your R number. If your R number ends in 0 use 10 kHz,
for R number ending in 9 use 9 kHz, and so on until R number ending in 1 use 1 kHz. Simulate the circuit.
Plot the gain (Vout/Vin) versus frequency response from 10 Hz to 100 kHz. Find the 3dB frequency on
the plot. Discuss your results.

Simulation results:
Circuit simulations shall be performed in LTSpice. LTSpice can be downloaded here
https://www.analog.com/en/design-center/design-tools-and-calculators/ltspice-simulator.html
Simulations should include both the circuit and the simulated waveforms whether they be a frequency
response output waveform or time dependent input and output waveforms. Make sure to properly label
the waveforms. The LTSpice .asc files should be uploaded to Blackboard.
Discussion and Analysis: Discussion and analysis of your results should be done in Microsoft word.
Include figures from your simulation such as the circuit and simulated waveforms to improve your
discussion. Also include and discuss relevant calculations and equations using Microsoft equation editor.
