Unfortunately, after a careful review of the submitted thesis and a direct comparison with the methodology, objectives, and scope defined in the approved proposal, it is evident that the thesis has fundamental scientific and methodological problems. More importantly, the work has not been developed in accordance with the approved proposal in several of its essential components. The differences are not limited to minor changes in software, assumptions, or implementation details; rather, in several key sections, the actual simulation methodology, process configuration, adsorbent model, thermodynamic treatment, and optimization procedure differ substantially from what was proposed and approved. The main concern is that some of the current calculations appear to have been performed first using simplified assumptions, literature-derived correlations, or models developed for different materials, and the results were subsequently presented within the framework of the proposed process. This approach does not adequately demonstrate that the research objectives stated in the proposal have actually been achieved. The required corrections therefore cannot be limited to explaining the existing assumptions as model limitations. The process model and the corresponding calculations must be revised so that they directly follow the methodology approved in the proposal. In particular, the approved proposal defines a process consisting of diesel fuel as the feed, extraction of sulfur compounds using a BF₄⁻-based ionic liquid, thermodynamic modeling using appropriate activity models, subsequent adsorption using pure ZnO and ZnO-AC as two separate cases, sensitivity analysis of the specified operating parameters, optimization of both adsorption cases, overall mass-balance evaluation, and validation against published data. The current thesis does not yet implement this methodology as one consistent and integrated process. Therefore, the revised version must be reorganized and recalculated based on the approved research framework rather than simply adding supplementary calculations to the existing model.
