The role of AI-powered conversational agents in developing EFL learners' oral fluency and interactional competence.
How does sustained interaction with AI chatbots affect EFL learners' speaking fluency, measured by speech rate, pause frequency, and mean length of utterance?
What types of communication strategies (e.g., negotiation of meaning, clarification requests, circumlocution) do EFL learners employ when interacting with AI versus human interlocutors?
Do EFL learners demonstrate reduced communication anxiety in speaking tasks after a semester of regular AI conversation practice, as measured by self-reported anxiety scales and physiological indicators?
How do EFL teachers adapt their classroom speaking activities to incorporate AI tools, and what criteria do they use to evaluate the linguistic appropriateness of AI-generated conversational responses?
