- Topic: What is the relationship between the application of Data Science and the optimization of digital marketing campaigns? An empirical investigation in Twitter

- Brief: The significance of this study lies in its contribution to analyzing the alignment between Samsung Mobile's online communication and its users through the use of a hybrid framework of text mining and structural topic modeling (STM). By examining the advertisement campaign's contents and the topics that users associate with the campaign, this study seeks to provide insights into how well Samsung Mobile's online communication strategy aligns with its users' perception of the product.

- The research questions for this study are as follows: 

To what extent is the product identity communicated in advertisement campaigns proposed by Samsung Mobile on their social media profiles aligned with what users communicate about the product? 

Was Samsung Mobile's online communication for the Galaxy S21 product successful? 

How can we measure the success of online advertisements of a product through social media? 

How and in which terms are users aligned to the advertisement campaigns of Galaxy S21?

To which degree are users following the messages and the topics which are proposed by the company?

- 2. Method 

A hybrid framework (text mining and topic modeling) is used to analyze advertisement campaign contents of tweets referring to Samsung mobile (#GalaxyS21) 

In brief, the proposed approach can be summarized in following steps: 

1. Data collection and preprocessing 

Tweets which mention #GalaxyS21 from January 2021 - December 2022 (2 years) will be collected through Twitter’s Stream API and will be archived in an SQL database. 

The communication by the company will be distinguished from that of the users. 

The downloaded data will be then pre-processed to clean tweets and remove posts that are unrelated to the subject. 

2.Estimating covariate  

To identify topics, a Structured Topic Modeling will be estimated using the cleaned text of the tweet and other metadata, such as the publishing date, ….  

3. Constructing firm-user narrative networks 

In this step we will identify networks among topics. 

4. Filtering the network structure of a debate and identifying constellations of topics 

To explore the relationship between covariate values and topic proportions, the estimate Effect 

function of the STM library will be used.
